Thanks Ken – useful for me too. I usually pick up a couple of machine knobs when attending various exhibitions and my stock is dwindling! I will add the address you give to my " useful places" list

Chris – yes you could make one but, in my book, the plastic one is better. The ball turning attachment is useful though and not just for making balls :-

 

This could be an embryo nose cone for an aero engine perhaps?
