Morning All. Having done a search on here I know that this is a perennial question but does anyone have experience of the Sealey SMS 2008 that retails at about £45.00 plus VAT. It gets pretty good reviews on-line. More information HERE

For many years I have used a Reliance drill grinding jig in conjunction with a normal off-hand grinder. It produces as

perfect result every time (if set up carefully). Sadly Reliance have long been out of business however Hemmingway supply a kit for making an almost identical jig.

Just make sure you can get replacement grinding wheels for it. I. From what I've read I get the impression that they don't last long in these types of machine.

I have one…they are great…I tried the £26 offering from Machine Mart and gave it away….absolute rubbish, then bought the Sealey one never looked back…

I think the smallest drill it will practically re-sharpen is 3mm….

As for wearing out the wheel….errr well had mine over a year….buy a spare wheel if its an issue ….

Looks like the "Drill Doctor" machines. With a little care in the setup, good results are returned.

The wheel is coated with diamond not embedded etc use light pressure & it'll be fine. Ram the drill in and it'll overheat and shed the diamond coating.
