Hi, I am installing drain cocks on my Stuart Beam engine. I would like them to be sitting vertical, but they tighten down at an odd angle.

Is it possible to back them off to the vertical position and use high temperature thread sealant to lock them in place and make a steam tight seal?

I am very new to model making and have no experience with this sort of thing. Please feel free to voice any other fixes you think may work. Thanks, John.

Stuarts used to do alloy washers in a variety of thicknesses to get your fittings to the correct attitude

              Hi John

If you go to [email protected] you will see them under washers 20 in a packet 5 of 5 different thicknesses , no connection with the company.

                .

I have put 'Boss white' onto the threads. Screwed in as far as it will go then backed off to the desired position.

After a couple of days this will have cured and the drain cock is secure but able to be cracked off and undone if required.
