Hi all, been busy buying again and got this 3 phase deburring unit. It”s a simple machine with a shaft mounted insert cutter wheel beneath the two angled guide bars. Simply slide the part to be chamfered along the angled channel and instant bevelled edge. Adjustable from 0 to 5mm bevel width.they had four to choose from and this was the nicest. Mick

A nice toy for a production scenario – especially for a timber/joinery workshop? smiley Probably a little jealous as I don't have room to swing a cat in my w/shop.

I use a file or run the part across the linisher. Curves are a bit awkward for that machine, especially concave ones, I would think!wink

For the rate I make parts I would not use it very much, but enjoy it and tell us how useful you find it in, say, 6 months time.

I hear you. But it was a bargain and had been sat there for years so it needed a home. There is a small Smart and Brown capstan lathe at the same dealer and I’m torn whether to buy it or not. I don’t do volume stuff but it’s so neat I’m sure I could make room.
I don’t do much cat swinging either but the lady of Tractor towers has allowed some stuff inside the hallowed house. Four foot long Centurion tank in the spare room for one lol.
Let me know what you think of the capstan potential.

Thats interesting, whats actually doing the cutting?

Is it a cutter or grinding disc?

Can't see clearly enough on the ipad.

"insert cutter wheel " suggest inserts in a cutter wheel.

Handy tool if you have a lot of plates to weld prep which is mostly what these chamfering machines seem to be aimed at, I should think you could end up with two burrs to remove not one if doing large chamfers.

Stefan Gotteswinter made something similar from a router. More of a chamfer tool than a deburrer really. Another tool on the list that will never get done!

Hi I used to use a similar piece of kit and I found it invaluable for chamfering hardened inserts which had been surface ground or removing burrs caused by milling. I wish I still had use of it now. I found that I could get replacement wheels from Darnell tools of Sheffield if that is any help.

This has a cutter wheel and not a grind stone. But they did have a machine with a grindstone in. Paid ?60 so happy if I only use it once a flood.

Nice item! out of interest what speed does it run at or is it adjustable?

I demonstrated my special dowel deburrer to my bro-in-law while chopping off a couple of dozen dowels for a wooden rocking horse project; a pencil sharpener wink 2
