Hi Mike – not a direct aswer to your question as I do not know of a firm who does these, however if you search in Ebay under Revox Pinch Wheel you will find a couple of firms who remanufacture tape recorder pinch wheels using similar albeit much more precise components. They might be able to help or advise.
Alternatively it may be possible to obtain a suitable custom made sleeve from Nufox Rubber Ltd Unit 1 Bentleyy Av, Manchster M242GP. Tel 0161 6558800 they made some custom radiator hoses (hand made!) for me which were very reasonably priced and they were extremely helpful.
Just this week I successfully re-sleeved the rubber drive wheel on my Black and Decker (spit!) powerfile onto its aluminium drive wheel. I took a rubber bush from my 'bits box', bored a socket in the end of a bit of scrap bar to take the o/d of this bush then bored the i/d of the bush to the required size. I then glued and slipped the resulting rubber sleeve onto the drive wheel and used coarse sand paper to work it down to the correct diameter and level surface. It all went well. I am unsure whether you would want Nufox to reinforce the sleeve – maybe a light reinforcement near to the hub to prevent excessive stretch and another layer part way through the depth of the sleeve.
Trick with machining the rubber seems to be keep it cold, really sharp tool with good top rake and high speed. Others may have better informed advice on this.
Good luck
John
