          Hi Kevin,

According to Tubal Cain (Model engineers Handbook) the size of wrench for 8 BA grub screws is .035

There was a thread on here in the last week or so which gave several sources opf supply, I think one was Machine Mart5. Hope this helps.

Hi Kevin I am not sure of the sizes ,but long long ago I had the same problem .I have two sizes here one of which I think fits .the smallest is 0.035 and the other is 0.050 both imperial. If you would like some to try please let me know. I have quite a few.

I've got the Allen keys, but I'm struggling to find a source of 8BA socket grub screws (length unimportant).

Does anyone know of a source for these tiny screws?

                  Roger

I've resorted to M2 the last couple of times that I needed 8BA.

                        Hi Roger

                        Try here:- Emkay Screw Supplies

Good range and quick service in my experience.

( Although what I read as 8 BA I now see is M8 ! blush and the smallest BA grub listed is 6BA) But, as suggested  , You could use M2 and he has those. I've found him very helpfull so why not ask him?

                        Cheers

If you are prepared to use slotted grub screws, these people have them down to 12 BA:

hi thanks for all the online help , having a re-think this weekend over a beer or two i have changed to 6 BA and went well as i have plenty of them and Allan keys.

I went for 8 ba because it was at fist hand in my screw tray i did not realise how small the Allan key was until i drilled and tapped it so i have about 20 grub screws going

                            thanks again Kevin
