      @ianhorsfield1

      Many of you who have made Rob Roy will have encountered the problem I now have.-Can you help me?

      I have made the steamchests 11/16 thick with the height for the valve spindle 7/16 as orig sht2 drg. The general assembly of the slide valve and cylinder shows this 7/16 dimension but it is drawn at 5/16!!!!. I have also made the slide valves 1/2 thick and upon assembly the bottom face of the slide valve is 1/8 away from the port face of the cylinder. Should I reduce the thickness of the steam chest by 1/8?

      Looking at the book I now see that the slide valve nut has grown from 1/4 to 3/8 and the height of the valve spindle hole to .240. (Should this be .250?)

      If I make new slide valve nuts that will give me the 1/8 I need. What do you think?

      Any help would be appreciated before I make more swarf.

      Thanks

      -Ian
