Who supplies indexable tools for screwcutting.

Simple question. I have been screwcutting with HSS bits, jig ground to the correct angles. I am reasonably pleased with the results. I just thought that I would give an indexable carbide tool a go for comparison. I am having difficulty in finding a supplier for the tip angles required.

Anyone point me in the right direction?

​I have just received an internal threading tool, with tip, direct from China, very economical price compared to the external one I bought from JB cutting tools ( usual disc 'r ) Just need to see how well they perform against ea. other, albeit both are 'made in China' anyway.

There's also Cutwel if you want to go professional (Korloy / Vardex) – and APT in Glasgow.

Note that there are dedicated nserts for each individual size (M3, M4 etc) and profile (ISO, Whit etc). Given the price of these things, you could spend a lot of money just buying a few common sizes. A compromise is to (instead) buy "agnostic" or "partial profile" inserts that can cut a range of sizes. Obviously the thread form is slightly non-optimal (sharper root radius) but that's not an issue for us.

I have had a dabble with carbide inserts for threading.

They are OK but I get better results using HSS so stick with that now.

If I were you I would stay with HSS if you are getting good results as you say and save the coins IMHO
