What are these DRO’s?

Hi, I have these DRO's on my Aciera milling machine.

The Z axis now stays at zero and doesn't change. It's possible fluid dripped onto the reset switch and into the unit, I've tested the switch and it still works fine. The rest of the unit seems sealed.

Does anyone know the make of these units, or where they can be repaired?

Perhaps you should make it a prerequisite of membership, that people confirm that they have 'read and understood' the basics.

Look to upgrading instead of spending money on what is basically a turns counter.

These readouts do not take into account any backlash in the screw so they are only as accurate as a worn screw.

They do not directly read the slide position so only as accurate as the feed screws. Some feed screws were originally very accurate but they deteriorate with age. Provided that you allow for backlash, they may well be accurate enough for you, at least you don't have to count the turns. Before linear scale DROs, all work was done with the feed screw micrometer dials.

To answer the question asked, the device is a counter so any reasonably competent electronics bod should be able to sort it out, they are however a rare breed now.
