      Hi All, Just moved house and going through my stock of brass sheet for a clock project and some will be half hard for better wheel cutting and some standard brass. Anybody have a quick way to checkout the difference between the two types. thanks for looking. David

          Run a deburring tool (or the edge of some HSS) along an edge. Free cutting brass will produce small chips, softer brass will tend to form longer curls.
