I need a vertical handpump to go in the side tank of my loco. can anyone point me in the direction of one of these please?

Pumps don't care which way they are pointed.

Can I dissuade you? Vertical makes the loco rock which soon becomes an irritation whereas front to back is easier to operate when in motion.

You may need to add springs if you stand a horz pump on its end otherwise the balls may not stay on their seats.

A simple bellcrank will turn the lever action of a horz one to vertical if you have the room to fit it.
