I am looking at fitting brakes to my new 71/4 loco, the diaphragms that i see for sale on the net seem to be very expensive £37.50 plus, anyone got any ideas or experiences to help me save some wonga? as i need 2 plus reservoir and brake shoes.
Suggest you have a go at making your own vacuum brake cylinders in 7.25"g. There is an awful lot of work involved plus the valves. £37.50 seems very reasonable to me.
My 5" brittania -Winson, have manual brakes on the engine. The later Modelworks engine looks to have steam operated brakes. Does anyone have any drawings of how it was done and details of the parts?
