What is the distance from the topslide to the centre of the spindle ?

What size tooling do you want to use ?

Perfecto is basically a Myford ML4 clone so any tool post that will fit a Myford should be suitable. Check the dimensions very carefully because there isn't much room. If the base of the toolholder is too thick you will be restricted to rather small tooling. Ideally get something with room to take small shank carbide tip holders. Might not want to use them now but its smart to retain the option should you ever wish to try such.

If the topslide is 10mm below the spindle centre you will not be able to use 12mm tooling because it will be 2mm above centre.

Hello there I have an ML4 and have fitted the toolpost and holders made by Lyneham Engineering. They fit and perform very well and they offer a very fair priced set of post and holders, on that well known auction site, although you may have to change the toolpost stud to 7/16"dia, or make a bush. The quickchange toolpost and the holder are Dickson pattern and on my lathe 10mm tooling is fine but 12mm tooling needs the toolholders to be relieved on the base.RDG do these toolholders but supply seems intermittant.
