At breakfast I have jars of marmalade, Marmite and almond butter. The marmalade lid behaves normally, a twist and I’m in. The Marmite is a bit stiffer. But the almond butter lid practically falls off, hardly possible to tighten for more than a few seconds. Have to be a bit careful picking it up.
I looked at the thread form and pitch – normal for glass jars and I have some of these jars in the workshop for screws etc. Their lids stay on OK.
So is there some special thread non-locking property of almond butter? Are there other substances that behave like this?
