      Morning All,

A friend is looking for a timber workshop 5m x 4m, with pent roof. It will probably be bespoke. Can anyone reccommend a supplier please?

      Many thanks,

      Nick

PS: I bought mine from Malvern Timber Framed Buildings three years ago but they sadly seemed to have disappeared.

I bought a similar size summer house from Dunster House in 2013, its the solid timber planks around 40mm thick, and have been very happy with it, It would make me a lovely workshop, but management would not agree! They do a whole range of garden buildings, and were very happy with their service.

I got my timber shed (20ft by30ft) from this firm 12 years ago ,still as good as new.

Firm located 20 miles north of Lincoln.

              Hi Nick

Your friend could try these suppliers of timber buildings. **LINK** they supplied me with a log cabin 5M by 5M.

It comes as a flat pack

A full set of plans and construction details come with the building

You can purchase a full roof insulation and floor insulation kit. I purchased the thicker floor boards i think they were about 30mm thick.

I have been very satisfied with my purchase so far. not the cheapest way of doing a building but definatley very satisfying. I have gone through one winter so far and i was quite warm in there.

I do not work for the above firm , just a very satisfied customer

                "Timberworld" of Leominster, unreservedly recommended.

Done a lot of work for me (they supply and fit to your design) and are used to all sizes of timber buildings. Good people to deal with both on and off site.

They do travel long distances when required.

**LINK** Built and erected my 7.5 x 4.5m workshop about 3 years ago. Made to the exact size and specification that I wanted with no problems and at a very reasonable cost

I highly recommend Pro Workshop (now called garden workshop) . I have had mine a few years now. They come and measure up your site and build to order. Double glassed windows and doors, three layered walls with solid roof.

Take your point, dormant company when you look a bit harder.embarrassed

I used these http://www.themalverncollection.co.uk/ MPB garden buildings, they pop up in garden centres all over the midlands. Old fashioned company that still uses a fax.

Have a look at KEOPS, no connection with this Co.

To prevent the dreaded rust fairy visiting, DO insulate everything that you can, and build in a small vent at floor level, and another high up. These will allow damp air to escape. Obviously, the outside of the vents needs to be both bug and weatherproof.

50mm of glassfibre will make things snug and minimise the risk of condensation. Many folk advise using a vapour barrier between the outer wall and the insulation.

Over all, this will make the shop warm (and easier to heat) in winter, and cooler in summer.

My small shop has no windows, so my high level vent has a small fan to help circulation; although for much of the time, the door is open, (only closed when rainy or frosty).
