Thinking about getting a southbend 13 I have a model a boxford at present and wondered if the 13 would be any better?

I had a South Bend "Heavy Ten" for 45 or more years, I think the Boxfords are a very near copy. Not sure about the 13 as I have not seen one but would guess more of the same maybe beefed up a bit. Let us know when you go to see it and maybe post a picture. My South Bend was a capable lathe I just outgrew it and being 1942 vintage was well worn.

Perhaps a look at Tony Griffith's site especially this pdf on rebuilding a South Bend 13 will help you : **LINK**

Good link there Robbo, as I guessed a beefed up version of my heavy ten. A good lathe for someone with the time to rebuild to a decent standard.

Also being of 1942 vintage I know the feeling!
