I have just been given a Rockworth Powertask air compressor. I think its model number is C-VENTO D4. It is a 1.5HP machine delivering 7cfm at 115psi.

My air requirements are not large, limited to blowing up tyres and running small steam engines such as a Stuart 7A (1" bore and stroke). I don't intend to use it for painting etc. These requirements are well within the capability of the compressor.

I know nothing about the compressor. There is a sticker on it saying 99db so I guess it is noisy. I have had a quick look on the internet without too much success. There does not appear to be a Rockworth web site. Some sites offering manuals may be of use.

Does anyone know anything about this machine. Was it any good?

I've just found this statement via Google search : "Due to upgrading compressors I now have this one up for sale. It's a Rockworth (Nutool) with a 1.5HP motor and 25l air tank. It's about 2 years old and was bought from B&Q and has done a bit of work …"

You may find it useful to do an image search for Nutool compressors, and see if you can identify a 'Badge-engineered' equivalent.

First thought is that you should sell it, and buy sonething quieter.

My first thought was 'does it have a long air hose? Being noisy is not too much of a detriment, if remote and only used occasionally. The reason(s) for why it was a gift may be revealing.smiley

                Thanks

I have found a manual on the internet for a Direct Power compressor as sold by Screwfix some years ago. It was a re-badged Nutool compressor and looks like the thing I have.

If it is too noisy I will pass it on.
