I want to publicise/promote the annual Rob Roy day at the Andover club which will be held on May 28th this year. (I know, I've just done it!).

I thought I would add it to the "events" section of this forum, so I clicked on "Events". (no flies on me!)

It said… Events can be submitted to the Website Editor

When I clicked on the underlined bit it started to set me up with an Outlook 2016 email account. I don't want to do this, I just want to send an email to whoever from my exiting email account to say that the Andover club will be hosting their annual Rob Roy day on May 28th 2017, on their newly extended raised track. (There, I've done it again!)

        So then I noticed this….

The current Events Diary can be found here in pdf format.

I eagerly clicked on the underlined word here and sure enough up came the events pages in pdf format, page 1 of 1, showing April and May, but no indication of what year. It does appear to come from issue no 4533 though. As issue no. 4551 has recently landed on my door mat this would seem a bit useless!

        Is it me?

I just want to let people know that the Andover club will be having their annual Rob Roy day on May 28th 2017, on their newly extended raised track, through the new tunnel!

        Why is it so hard?

The web editor link is taking you to Diane's e-mail. If you want to e-mail her direct then details can be found on the contacts page

Just right click teh link and select 'copy email address' you need to change your settings so your normal email client is the default program to open email links*.

*If you use an online program, like googlemail, you can set it up to work with with Outlook and it works much better IMHO.

              Thanks JasonB and Neil.

I emailed Diane a report on last year's Rob Roy day on December 12th. Haven't heard from her though. It didn't seem necessary to send her the same info again. I didn't know that the link would take me back to her email.

Further to the above, a click on the "Events" button reveals just one entry, dated last October. As the pdf link only brings up one page, dating back more than 6 months, it would appear that this part of the forum has been abandoned.

Can anyone help to point me to where else such events can be publicised? It is already on the Model Engineering Clearing House forum.

Click "forums" on the black bar towards top of this page and then scroll down to "clubs & exhibitions" with the grey background and under that you can make a post in "Main Shows & Club Events"
