Pick up from train station offered for Doncaster Show (formerly Harrogate)

If anyone needs a lift on Sunday from/to Doncaster Train Station to the 23rd Model Engineering and Modelling Show (formerly Harrogate, now Doncaster) just let me know.

I should have up to 5 seats free in my car, I'm probably going on Saturday but I'm not sure yet.

How does this show compare with Alexandra Palace. is it bigger, More or less trade shows? opinions please as it is a long way fro me to drive

The Harrogate show last year was poor compered to Allly Pally in London. I wish I knew why the move to Doncaster, it can only be a cheaper hall to rent. The number of trade stands in London has dropped a lot over the years but still beats all other shows. The admission price to these shows is the same but value is something else.

I thought Harrogate was ram packed last year, every corner seems to be stuffed.

I assumed the move to Doncaster was because the show had out grown Harrogates small halls,

In terms of price, I would have thought Doncaster was much more expensive due to the size and location but I'm just guessing.

Sorry David, I'm totally disagreeing on every point, that's why I made a point of replying, for the record, I am young and inexperienced!! Thus I could be totally wrong about this.

Perhaps some of the folk who show or trade would be more qualified to comment on hall space, price and earnings (if applicable)

Harrogate show was always worth going to. The move to Doncaster is due to Harrogate Showground raising the charges beyond that which the Organisers were prepared to pay (earlier posts on the Forum set all of this out).

For my money Harrogate (now Doncaster) out performs Ally Pally every time and I live well South of both!

It's a shame there is so little information on the website!

I have pulled this from the stand applications but it would be great to see a general public version showing proposed areas (ie Trade, display, canteen etc) as well any outdoor showing areas and maybe parking, entrance and exits routes etc.

I tend to find I follow the crowd till I get a program and only then start looking at what and where im going to be going – its not very friendly to newcomers at all. And we're all newcomers this year due to the venue change!

Evening all.

At the last count we have just short of 60 traders booked in for Doncaster so should be worth a visit. I'll be updating the traders on the website in the next 24hrs.

From the trade leaflet (cut-out above) the light green shows the trade stand locations and the darker olive green is club displays etc. There is an additional exhibition room upstairs which also leads from/to the large café/restaurant area. Both are accessible by escalators or lifts.

Will be there Friday, travelling up from Hampshire so hope traffic is kind to me. Always arrange this show as a stop off on the way up to 'boro to visit family. Harrogate has always been a good show, so hoping this one lives up to expectations.
