With the greatest respect, you are missing the point above. It is not about a picture, but about writing an enquiry in a manner that maximises the chance of a successful response and does not unduly tax those kind enough to respond.
You do not want to spend money on a phone, but you want a result that requires people to expend (waste) their time and effort, for free, on your behalf.
In the end you did manage to provide a photo, so why not pre-plan: go to the friend and have it ready before submitting your post?
Given that you gave a layman’s description of the item, and the component is known by a specific term “in the trade”, you made the search particularly difficult.
There are billions of images of things on the internet. Google image search would find something close to what you sought, a link to which would serve as a good starting point. eBay also provides a good source of pictures. That route does not require a camera or a friend.
