I'm looking for a 4 jaw chuck for my Boxford ME. I saw an Arceurotrade Zither 4 Jaw slim line chucks which look OK, Has anybody got experience of this make or could suggest a better option. I would prefer a 6" chuck.

      Thanks Peter

Well I can't help you with a 6 inch chuck i'm afraid but I do have a zither 4 jaw, in the 4inch size. and I can commend the nice quality of it.

The Zither is the one in the middle, the other one is 8 1/2inch 4 jaw.

I think Neil the editor has a zither as well, possibly the same.

Unfortunately it's a face-on image so it doesn't show you the depth. But it is of course, significantly thinner than it's bigger brother. The intention of having so many is to handle different sized work, as i'm sure you all know how insensitive the larger ones can be when handling delicate or smaller work.

I've got a Zither 4" 3-jaw SC chuck and it is far better than I expected for the price, but it does need the scroll to be kept clean to keep the runout within 0.001"

              Hi Peter,

I have a slimline 6" four-jaw independant chuck from Zither. The jaws were a bit stiff to move when I received it, but the jaws move a bit easier now after I have used it. I like the low weight of the chuck, makes it easier to change for my old hands.
