I'm looking for some model horses that I can paint for using on a carousel. Any ideas where I might find some? I have seen only one site but they want £270 for 30 horses.

I bought a Creality Ender 3 3D printer as a first step into the technology. Not finding 3D CAD easy to learn but struggling on.

It strikes me that you could buy an entry level printer and a couple of reels of filament for what you are being asked for for the horses – and the investment for the future is all there then.

Carousel horses are a somewhat different beast to the farm variety. Which means that you may have to model them yourself. 3D printing is one route to take, but you would need to use a 3D modelling program that is amenable to figurine modelling. The gaining of competency in the use of such a program can entail a steep learning curve. An alternative for someone with good hand tool using skills, would be to wood carve them.

Is the OP modelling a specific carousel or his own variant. Some used idenitical horses whch brings in the option of some sort of pattern, silicone mould and plaster or cold casting work. Others had a variety of differing horses which makes such carvings more involved.
