Looking at the Metro drawings, I note that:-

The top of the firebox crown is 11/16″above boiler C/L

Bottom water gauge bush is 1/8″ above boiler C/L

Vertical distance between water gauge bushes C/L is 1 11/16″

Depending on how tightly the glass retaining nuts are, the visible glass seems to be quite small, maybe only about 1/2″.

Can anyone who knows Metro please let me know what it’s visible glass length actually is, whether this is easily to read and if, when the water is at the bottom of the glass, it still covers the firebox crown?
