Hi – anyone know where I can get some – tried all the usual places but they only have piano wire or silver steel, but I need mild steel? Thanks

If you can tolerate a deviation from dead size would 2.8mm or 12SWG wire do the job?

Hmm…2.8 mm is 22 microns too big. 12 swg = 2.642 mm , 7/64 = 2.778 mm, 136 microns too small. But in BMS it was never to size anyway unless ground, often a bit smaller than nominal. Why is the size so important, can't you just use 3 mm or even 1/8?

2.8mm or 12 SWG would do the job. Its to hold together 3d printed tank tracks at 1/8 scale. Stainless would be good but as mild steel is easier for me to work with thats what I need. I use EKP as a supplier to PSB but never gave them a thought – will take a look. Thanks.

If all else fails, you will have the job of turning down some mild steel bar. Being 3mm raw material, presumably, one pin at a time close to the chuck! Looks like you are going into mass production!

Howard I think you may be correct – I hate turning long thin parts, never turns out well!
