Israel join the race to the moon

Gentlemen,

Was anybody else aware that on the 22nd of February this year SpaceX launched a rocket to put three objects into space, two were Satellites and the third was a lander built by Israel which after six weeks would attempt to land on the moon, relatively this was done on a shoe string and the craft made it all the way and was in the process of landing when a computer glitch caused the engine to switch off, the Israeli engineers managed to get it fired up again but sadly it didnt slow enough and crashed on the moons surface **LINK** .

It was a program this week on National Geographic that brought it to my attention, I'm always interest in rocket launches and space but missed this completely

I was going to mention that the race to the moon was won (allegedly) many years ago by those awfully nice American chappies.

So Israel looks to be coming in a solid fourth after USA, Russia and China.
