Hi all, does anyone know if the Clarke collet chuck is to any particular standard, they don't seem to sell a range of optional size collets, looking for some imperial ones, they are longer than say ER collets.

I have an ER chuck for my mill, but bought this Clarke one when I had a CL500M lathe, thought I would keep the Clarke one to use in my later Warco lathe.

Don't know if they wouldm be suitable, but Arc Euro sell Imperial sized ER collets.

have a look at their website.

Very hard to find individual collets now, ARC did do them at one time but stopped maybe 8yrs ago. I got one with a set of imperial collets back in 2007 when I bought my X3 from Engineers Toolroom and added some Metric ones from Arc when they had them as clearance items.

Have a look at post No. 16 here:

              https://www.practicalmachinist.com/vb/general/newbie-what-type-collet-239158/

              There, they are called Q24-16.

Life is very circular. That site also references this site:

where the drawing above first appeared.

Drawing appeared before that on ARC's website where I snipped the image from.

Note the Q24 are shown as 10deg, the Arc as 8Deg
