      If I put brass items in the pickle they come out feignt copper colour – is this copper left behind after removing the surface layer or is it being picked up somehow from the solution (which gest used a lot to pickle copper boilers)

      your thoughts please

          Zinc is attacked more quickly than copper by the acid.
