Need a steering chain for the Minnie I am building.

Model boat suppliers generally offer a wide variety of chains. Cornwall Model Boats may be a good place to look. I've been doing business with them for years for various bits and pieces for my model engineering projects.

I've never really understood why model boat builders have such a love of sticking brass chain onto their models it's not as though it was used much on full size, looks like they only do brass unless you include chrome plug chain

Because brass chain is less likely to corrode/rust if it gets wet. Some model boat builders actually sail their creations – though not as many as you might think…

It's the ones that leave it all a bright brass that I did not understand. I suppose it does not need the strength of steering chain either which needs welded or silver soldered links
