It is fair to say that there are more skills required to be mastered when making cylinder drain cocks than might first meet the eye. A lot more! Whilst these are a long way from aesthetic perfection they operate correctly and most importantly don't leak. I might make some pretty ones later but for now im happy.

They look excellent. I bought mine from the UK as I did not think I have the skills yet to make my own. What size thread is on those ?

Thread size is why I had to make my own as no one seems to make 5/16 x32 and I didn't want to sleeve the holes.

I realised that "watchmaker skills" were required for doing ME a while ago, but haven't gone down that path yet in my own journey

Now theres an idea, a progress thread for those like me….. I tried to make them on my Harrison L5 but way to big so I used the Clarke Mini lathe. The key skill to develop is to move the topslide very smoothly without pulling or pushing the wheel.

Short bit of allen key in hand drill run at low speed and poked into the screw on the top slide handle.
