Is there any indication of where it was made, ie., UK, USA, Europe, where ever. Maybe the motor would be a clue, if it is original, or the switch gear. Where ever it came from, it looks a useful machine.

                Marcus,

Don't paste an image into your message, it just becomes thousands of random characters – see THIS LINK

Looks more like IDP or JDP than JOB to me.

Also prob worth posting this other picture from your album:

Unusual machine – I was wondering if it could be a DIY head grafted onto the top of a early Bridgeport-style mill body. There's a slight resemblance perhaps to this 'Haclo' head on lathes.co.uk but not quite…

Would probably be worth contacting Tony Griffifts who runs that lathes.co.uk website to ask him – his contact details are on the lathes.co.uk homepage.

It looks rather like an add-on vertical head, on a horizontal mill.

[see the horizontal bore behind the chuck, in that last picture]

Picador was a manufacturer of pulleys, speed-shafts, etc. and supplied to "everyone".
