      Hello all,

I have a new Samsung phone and have removed the sim card from my old phone to my new phone. The old phone will still pick up my wifi from my home with out the card installed but cant not use the phone to call a number.

My question is that the old phone needs to be reset to factory settings, its giving me instructions to verified if I am the owner of the old phone, then it sends me a e-mail for a one off verification. The e-mail has been picked up on both phones, what concerns me is will the reset delete any thing on my new phone. All this is rather confusing, I'm not technically minded and worried that my data on the new phone will be affected.

      Thanks Bob

I did this probably 4years ago now, so unfortunately can’t remember the exact steps. I know I transferred everything (contacts/apps etc) from the old phone to the new one using the info from Samsung . **LINK**

This info from Samsung tells you how to do a factory reset: **LINK**

It doesn’t mention sending an email as far as I can see.

I don’t know if this is any help!

Turn off WiFi on old phone then reset. That way new phone can't know that ol' has been reset.

My wife had the same trouble last week (S10+).

Even the 3 button method wouldn't work. Trouble appears to have been the phone number, preset in the phone (not the sim). She had to call Samsung to get it sorted!

              Good luck.
