The latest issue of Model Engineer, No 4548 has an advertisement for a fuel stove by Machine Mart. A DIY version can be made from old cast iron brake drums from a semi-trailor or large truck. A small stove can be made from 2 drums or a larger one by welding 3 together.

The top cover plate is hinged on one side and has a cut-out around the flue. (Good for boiling a kettle). A sliding, damper plate controls the airflow and fire temperature. This one is used in our clubhouse and is mobile for when we are sitting outside.

Needs to be developed so you can easily make toast with beef dripping, but a good start!

The stove at Towyn Pendre works had horizontal holes through it, which just nicely fitted your lunchtime pie

Looks to be heavily inspired by the Romesse stoves that were installed by their thousands in signal boxes.
