          .

That is a very good price for that. smiley

Maybe the education establishment has decided to sell it themselves as that is more than they would get from a dealer buying it in to move on. ………………… Possibly.?

I'd have it myself…..its not too far away from me, across the bridge….

Alas, no room at the inn and a potential house move on the horizon…..besides, I have three lathes already….

Every machine tool seems to be an 'Ex school machine' even when it spent all its life in a steel mill. angry

And if they have all been crashed like AllanB did on a college one the otherday who would want an ex schools/college machine!

And on one I saw the "scholars" seemed to think that the gearbox was where you put the swarf.

Not that much of a bargain, no gap bed, basic 4 way toolpost, no faceplate etc

I wouldn't buy a Harrison M without hearing it run either, unless it was really cheap.

Have come across a few M's that looked mint but sounded like a bag of spanners from the headstock.

And always makes me laugh when they put 'Ex School' like it's the holy grail…..Paint might have fared well in the classroom environment , but students are not sympathetic to machinery.

… that depends if you can live with the epithets and symbols scratched into most of them.

                            Too right.

Never struck me as a decent design in that they assembled the cluster of gear and then welded them all together.

At least all the Chinese knock off's I have seen have one piece cluster gears and never sound as dad as the M type.

                                If I had a spare £1500 ………….. Which I don't

If I had need for another lathe ………. Which I don't

I would take a punt / gamble on that. yes
