Found old Raspberry Pi, could not think of any password that I might have used, tried reset instructions but the card decided to be write protected, went hunting for notebooks, found loads of things I'd forgotten buying including some 2GB SD cards. Loaded a Light version only to get it into a state of refusing the default PW. Fed up. Try again tomorrow.

Eugene – yes, I bought some Raimondi (Italian) ones. As these tiles are dead flat and will show up any horizontal misalignment, I thought it best. You tighten the clips up with a special tool – this clamps the top surfaces of adjacent tiles to the same level and afterwards you kick the clips away and grout over the join. Obviously you need some give in the adhesive. It could still go horribly wrong!

I've already used self-levelling screed to get the floor very close to level, otherwise the cost of adhesive could be a problem. The first tiles down will get a lot of attention from the laser and spirit levels…

A Raspberry Pi has a password? How unfriendly can you get? I thought they were supposed to lead people in to programming not stymie and frustrate them at every turn. Have you tried "password" because that is the only logical response to such a stupid idea.

Tried Recovery mode which aaaagh locks the card. Ordered a new card, Finally found a method (involves HKEYS) to clear lock and reformatted the original card. Each new install involves over a GB of download secret 40 years ago I ran a word processor that used 2k.

Just heard the police are pleading for people to stop ringing them up to say KFC have run out of chicken.

              The mind boggles…

No worse a waste of time than the hunt sabs who got their Land Rover stuck in a slurry pit a couple of days ago, they called the fire service to pull them out!

It's a little rusty, but looks very restorable.

Sort of coincidentally that there is a thread about making bronze at the moment today I went to talks on copper and tin mining and a 2 hour walk to a 16th century tin working, Amazing that they could find the ore in the middle of nowhere and decide to mine it. Peak years were around 1550 so probably used in the bronze cannon used against the Armarda. Prodigious tonnages of earth moved all by hand. The copper mine just a mile or so away was not worked until mid C19 so some 300 years later although many many other workings were going on maintaining a level of activity spanning 500 years.

Today I turned a new motor drive pulley for me smart and brown lathe, made it a crown style for the flat belt drive.
Having done that I fitted the newton tesla inverter drive kit to the lathe so I can measure the required belt length and obtain the flat belt required to finish the project.
