Hi any advice on how to stop steam activated drain cocks on my 5 inch loco from clogging up and not working and how to clear them again Thank you Am
Are they clogging with rust or scale or ? Knowing what the clog is may help ID some actions to keep it from happening again.
Probably best to dismantle them and poke them out with wood sticks, pipe cleaners etc. as required (and keep all debris found for examination)
Copper or steel boiler ? Rust or scale ? Stored wet or dry ?
To prevent contaminants use clean water and correct water treatment.
Blow down at every steaming to flush out boiler.
