i believe their is a need for a more broad church model engineering site, the existing ones are predominantly set in the past. My interests are fast more modern model engineering for cars boats and planes.

We now have a tether car track in the UK first one for around 50 years, we have only had two events Covid secure with a lot of interest in building cars which was once the domain of model engineers.

I have real concern in revisiting this particular thread – it should have been moderated CLOSED some time back.

I neither know, nor would care to know, Mr Lever, but his self-promoting conceits leave quite the nastiest residual 'taste' I can recall on this forum.

To smugly bleat on about his exceptional talents being denied the (free) oxygen he clearly feels that they deserve, on the forum he, so unfairly, denigrates, is almost beyond belief. To then, further, use that same despised forum to advertise his pathetic need for further gratuitous 'exposure' says even more about his character than I could express without justifiable moderation!

        Justin, Neil, whoever, preferably, delete!

Maybe we can look forward to a site that permits posting all kinds of files not just jpegs, has a properly functional editor, and is generally more in line with modern web practice?

One thing that puzzles me, the web is all about openness, the ability to freely post links is what drives it. As for who "owns" the site, though it is paid for by MTM and the advertisers, its value comes from the people who read and post on it. If you inhibit that it destroys the value.

I would, sadly, agree to your sentiments Jack.

            His behaviour is horribly underhand.

I wouldn't vote for a deletion though, personally.

            Let people have their say.

I've left a few forums over the years, just stopped posting. Very easy to do.

Never understood the thinking behind this sort of thing.

Posted by Barrie Lever on 11/09/2020 18:09:34:… I will be able to allow some robust banter with a little politics etc thrown in for good measure

It's a pound to a pinch of poop that it'll develop into a right-wing echo chamber, like Smokstak and some other forums I have learned to avoid. Does the internet really need another one?

                    Thank you folks,

Yes I have now found the latest comments.

I thank those who have made positive comments, note the views of those who have offered criticism.

A sad way to leave – stirring dissent, then announcing a competitor forum.

I will now lock this thread, and may be quicker to do so in future when I sense trolling.

                    Neil
