Rishton ID and Myford curiosity.

Here's two machines in my work that I'm curious about.

The first one I know is basically a ML10 or speed ten, but I've just never seen or read about this "euro-ten". It was made 1996. It was supplied with a speed ten manual from new. I'm guessing it's just modified and rebadged for school use, with switches on the lid, chuck guard and carriage stop. Just curious if anyone else has seen one before?

Next up is the little Rishton mill, with twin columns, 415v. Made in 1997. Anyone know a model number, so I can find out a little more?( Sorry pic is rotated, I'm not sure why).

Judging from the layout and colour scheme I’d say these were made as educational training machines by Conect, correct spelling.

They bought machines in from Myford and Rhiston to convert to CNC for training but it’s the first time I have seen manual machines. I have a couple of the CNC mills and lathes undergoing retrofit at the moment and have done quite a few in the past so I know what they look like.

I can see the connection to Conect. We had new Conect machines around 1994; a lathe and mill and they came from the same supplier. I know the Conect lathe was similar to a ML10. We sold the lathe off, but a few years ago I retro fitted the mill with new boards from Conquerer EasiCNC.

I'd be interested to read a little more about the same or other retrofits to the Conect. I dabbled with it around 2011 but but never really gave it much more work to do. One of things I just kept on the back burner.

Just an update to finish…. I've found a manual for the Rishton mill so answered my own question about the model number.

It's a VM602 and seems there's another with shorter table called VM452.
