Myford VM-F milling mach…..

….Hi all,

I have asked before but reached the end in finding a wiring diagram for the

Myford VMF milling machine……3 Phase…….made in Taiwan….

have tried Lathe +co, RDJ, (the new Myford name owners) plus several sites in the USA….even Warco……hoping that someone else imported it, perhaps under another name…eg. Grizzly, USA………..but no luck……

any other suggestion's, I'm on first name terms with google……hahaha…..

the machine was made in 1995, would I be correct in thinking it would have been wired up here ? the contactors are European made…..the machine is as new…..

would Myford themselves have wired it up or perhaps a contractor…?

does anyone know…….

there is nobody near me that can help, so without a w/diagram this machine is junk……any ideas or help would be great……..

I think Myfords used to fit their own wiring kit? My Myford 'E' had UK electrics. Not really sure why you would say the m/c is junk, I'm no electrician but surely you don't throw a machine away because you haven't got a wiring diagram.

Yes try Warco, Grizzly, Jet etc. for manuals, pretty sure they will be similar. Good luck!

The generic number for all these machines from Myford, Warco etc is KF-VO-A2F. If you use that in your googling you may have some success.

It led me to a Yahoo Group which you will have to join to look at their files, – **LINK**  there may be a manual there.

If you look at Grizzly.com (American machinery) and search for their mill no G0695 this may be similar and you can always download manuals from Grizzly.

Best of luck, but don't forget my motto  "I didn't say it was a perfect plan"   because I've never knowingly seen a Myford VMF.

You don't really need a wiring diagram, you could either trace out what is there or work it out, it isn't rocket science.

Unless he lives at "the back of beyond" there's bound to be someone fairly close that can spare a little time sorting this out for him in exchange for a few beer tokens, surely.

What is the nature of your problem that requires a circuit for the wiring?

Maybe if you could tell us a bit more ?

If you were to provide a bit more detail about what features the machine has, a schematic could be drawn up that would probably suffice….how about a photo or two of the control circuitry showing contactor(s) control relays and overload if present ( surely there is 1 ? )

With a statement like that, those with a wiring diagram, or are sharp enough to be able to work it out, will be offering scrap value in their droves.

I, for one, would offer scrap value, even though I have never seen one.

Well if he has moved, I hope he keeps in touch and we can resolve whatever issues he has with his mill rather than leaving it to the 'scrap man'

Hi all, thanks for the concern……

still no manual I'm aftaid, I've reached the end of my knowlege / experience….we are not all 3phase savy……

it's hard enough to find a good domestic electrician / sparks, let alone find somebody that can work out 3phase and can be bothered to sort out a machine….cos I've been trying for over 3months…..am actually waiting for a reply regarding flying somebody out here from the UK…..

and yes I live in the back of beyond….hahaha…..mostley it's a good thing…..

the machine is as new…..looks a bit like a small Bridgeport J head……

the main motor is on top with a rotary sw next to it……as far as I can see this turns the machine on…..can't find anything for high and low speed , electrically…… there are NO emergency stop buttons and certainly no cut out switches on the doors for the belt……there is a powered cross feed……..there is a work light that works (12volt) also when powered up the rotary will stay in the forward or the reverse positions……no power and the rotary sw will return to the off position ……..in the mains box there are what looks like 5 contactors and six miles of wire, all imaculate…..

have tried all the test and reset buttons but the machine's main contactor will not click in….

it may be easy for some of you to sort out wiring problems but there are others like me who would prefer to leave it to the experts….I'm all for learning but can u imagine how much it would cost to rebuild this machine electrically if I messed it up, especiall here……..cheaper in the long run to get somebody who knows more than me………
