Myford Super 7 restoration problem.

Hello everyone. I just can’t seem to fathom this!   How do I remove the retained thumbscrews from the belt covers on my Myford SUPER7 lathe ? In order to restore them. Thanks in anticipation.

Try gripping with rubber sheet and HEAVE

A possible hint:

I don’t the Super 7 but the change-wheel cover’s retaining-screw on the Myford 7 looks as if its head is screwed very tightly onto the end of the stem. Or perhaps peened on.

The knobs just unscrew on mine.

They fit into a tapped hole.

Thanks Bernard Towers, yes mine are held in place with a ring wire clip in a recess on the shaft. A VERY good pull and out they come. Cheers.
