Minnie Traction Engine – Forward & Reverse Sheave Positions

I seem to br progessing well with this project. I am now at a stage of assembling many many items.

I am seeking advice on the ositioning of the two sheaves on the Crakshaft.

Do they go tottaly oposite each other ? I made the two together and then parted.. I can find nothing in Mason's book asto how they should be set. But perhaps I have missed it.

As always any thoughts, and help i very much apreciated.

Hello Malcolm. Have a look at page 164 of the book (if it's the same as my 1971 edition). There is a description of setting the eccentrics according to the position of the valves.
