Anyone able to help with identification of a lathe.

I believe it is metric. Any help appreciated.

            Hi Gerard,

My first guess would be an Asian clone of the Emco Compact 8. I have the original and I am very happy with the lathe.

Thanks Thor. Very helpful. Motor is Chinese, so makes sense. It is missing the plate which has the belt/speed ratios. I presume if a direct copy these are likely to be the same as the Emco?

              Regards

              Gerard

Thanks Thor you got me on the right track. It looks to be a Honden L-450. Not much info on the web it seems. If anyone has any info, it would be much appreciated.

                  Hi Gerard,

You may be right about it being a Honden, don't know much of the Honden but I think I have the manual and I have made a few tools for the lathe, also sendt you a PM.

This looks like a generic 9×20 lathe to me, sold under many different names and paint colours.
