Up till now, I have had no trouble with Hermes deliveries, but yesterday I had cause to contact a seller on ebay about a delivery which was overdue. The seller has 1200 transactions and 100% positive feedback. The package was estimated to arrive between 5th and the 9th of June. When the seller checked with Hermes, they told him that it had been signed for on the 4th, which he doubted was likely. He is currently struggling to sort out lost Hermes parcels. Since lockdown deliveries have been left without signatures, and we certainly did not sign for anything that day. Until my bank statement comes in, I cannot be sure if we were out shopping for an hour that afternoon or not. As I take some time to get to the door if the doorbell rings, I frequently miss the delivery which is dumped on the doorstep. The doorstep is not particularly easy to see from the road, so opportunist thieves are not very likely. Its yet another shame that the CO19 changed the delivery rules, before the lockdown, the Hermes man used to put unsigned for deliveries behind the side gate, after reaching over it and unlocking it, and relocking it afterwards.
