I used to get my 64 1/2 inch x 1/2 wide blades from Screwstation but they stopped them.  I use them on both my horizontal 6×4 and my homespun 3 wheel vertical.

My last lot were from ebay and are wafer thin, no set to the teeth and covered in vaguely slippery plastic that wore off in no time – in short, total rubbish.

Can anybody recommend a supplier of ready to use blades in 10 and 14 tpi options, please?

      Thanks,

      Martin

I have always got mine for my wood cutting bandsaw and metal saw from Tuffsaws always had a great service. If you have a quiry then you may need to phone a couple of times as he is a one-man band but always knowledgable

As well as Tuffsaws I’ve also had good service from Mister Bandsaw on ebay

You could try Axminster Power Tools, they make their own blades on site to order, any length/tooth pattern usually.

              Good Luck

Tuffsaws sell the bimetal blades that are greatly superior to plain carbon steel versions, especially when cutting demanding materials. I have had excellent service life from them and use 10 tpi blades for most work; 14 tpi on thin walled tube.

+1 for Tuffsaws.  Brilliant service, I had ordered a blade of the incorrect length but when I contacted him he resized it and returned it to me for no charge.

How is the ethnic origin of your bandsaw relevant to the blades that will be used on it?

It will be worth making a Tension Meter(Jacques Maurel design) for the blade, and using it after carefully setting up the saw.

Having done that my blades now wear out rather than break!

Thanks everybody, Tuffsaws and Mister Bandsaw duly bookmarked and an order to replenish stock will soon be on it’s way.

Does anybody have a use for two really rubbish but unused blades?

I’ve been using The Bandsaw Shop in Leeds, their online shop is pretty good.

I did have one problem with a blade, a 64 1/2 inch 6/10 vari tooth that was supplied a fraction too short to get on the wheels but they replaced is straight away.
