          Well done for posting Vic its a fantastic engine,can be quite difficult to get a single cylinder engine going sometimes never mind a 4 cylinder

                Its obviously well made but I also love the design aesthetics of it. I’m sure I’ve seen a V4 Vacuum engine as well somewhere.

                        Yes, as the flame/hot air cools inside the engine it creates the vacuum which is the power stroke, flywheel momentum carries the piston up for the return stroke sucking in more flame/hot air as it goes.
