I bought a used criterion boring head online yesterday, and am waiting for it to get here. The head is a 76mm/3" one, but has a bt40 shank on it. I want to order an r8 shank for it, would anyone happen to know what threads criterion use on these heads ? I want to get one as soon as possible, does 1 1/4 x 18 tpi sound right ?

Emgee, yes i meant to type 1 1/2", seems to be a standard size with boring heads.

Ronan, best wait until you have it in your hand to measure.
