Hopefully George will have my Boiler finished by the weekend so i an finally start in earnest.

It seems to be well constructed can't wait to get the finished item.

Hoping to at least get it in the frames for the Warwick show but it will not have it's cladding on till next year.

After the disaster of my own i tried to make light at the end of the tunnel.

Shame i waster half a year and a load of money on the old one but you learn by mistakes.

I am going to fit new super heater tubes in my old boiler as a standby but just for interest only.

Just wasn't to get it pressure tested for my own mind.

Dreading making the cladding as told very difficult.

We will have to see if i can do the boiler justice now

That's looking good Ron, I have just made a wooden former for my fire box, after trying to bend the box without. It looked ok but like a wally I cut the plate 1/4" too short😜 So I have learnt the hard way.

If it is not too late, I would recommend you fit all the hinge mechanism for the firebox to the backplate, before iIt is silver soldered to the barrel.

Why ?

Because , am I the only one to " have kittens" drilling and tapping copper for tiny screws in a perfectly sound boiler ?

Yes i was worried about bolting into Boiler for Fire door so George at GB Boilers is already fitting bushes to tap into to fit the fire door.

So many thing's keep coming up as a novice just hope we have remembered most of them.

One thing I don't see !

A bronze block with a few holes tapped in it , silver soldered to the top of the firebox, so that it is a heat sink for the end of the superheater tubes ?

I don't know if i need one or not but i have forwarded it to George at GB Boilers if needed i know he will fit one.

I must say he has been very helpful in so many things he has sorted me being a Novice.

I suppose that's the difference using a Professional that Cares he has been really good with me.

Finally managed to get a bigger Picture so you can see how good it is coming along. Well done George at GB Boilers your doing me proud mate.

Hopefully i will be able to show you the finished Boiler next week as soon as i get it i will share pictures with you.
