I’ve volunteered to sort out the regulator for a friend. It is a Stroudley type with a rotating disc in the dome driven by links from a cross arm down in the boiler. This cross arm in turn is driven by a a square hole with a rod (with squared off end). The square end isn’t any longer, and the hole in the cross arm is anything but square. My cunning pan is to replace the cross arm and have a boss in the middle with a slot across it mating with a boss silver soldered to the regulator rod with 2 teeth machined on it, like a dog clutch. We don’t have any drawings. It is obviously important to have the hole centres where the vertical links attach the same as original, or it will all bind up. Measuring between 2 tapped holes is a bit imprecise, but as near as I can get it they are 25/32″ apart. This seems a very odd number, there is no apparent reason not to be 3/4″. Does anyone have the drawings so I can see what was intended?
