Such an obvious question, someone must have raised it before. I have looked but cannot find anything. Preemptive apologies.

Is it possible to upload pdf's, Word or Excel documents etc.?

If it is possible, where are they all?

OS or program dependant files (such as Word or Excel documents) are not universally correctly readable.

Is that why most other forums support a wide variety of files? Suspect it's more to do with the limited capability of the forum software used and/or the cost of licensing it.

flash, pdf + MS word documents which include macros are very common oft used vectors for malware especially for Windows machines – I presume the moderators who apparently can promulgate such have checked them out
