Does anyone know where I can buy individual socket head cap screws rather than having to buy boxes of 100 or 200??

Try Model Fixings (http://www.modelfixings.co.uk.). They have a good range and the service is excellent. Screwfix also have a limited range of sizes in packs of 50 with good prices.

Folkestone Engineering Supplies (http://www.metal2models.btinternet.co.uk/) list fasteners by the “each” and supplied me recently with my requested selection of socket head screws and grub screws in small quantities at a reasonable price.

Find a local engineering supplier, theres a bloke on a local industrial estate will sell me any quantity.

South Essex Fasteners, based in Southend, Essex.

Been using them for years, excellent range of all types of fasteners including all sizes of studding and so cheap.

If you want one off, they will sell you that, over the counter of course.

PM me with your requirements – though I am not, and have never been, interested in being a trader, I do happen to be overstocked (about 100 kg) in many sizes of metric socket head cap screws in sizes from M3 to M12, all unused and mostly in new condition, a few have some light storage discoloration; also some sizes of socket grub screws and socket roundhead and countersunk screws. I would be quite happy to help out at a large discount from the trade price.

Hi

I have used About Town Bolts for metric cap head bolts etc. on ebay here. They seem to pretty good on price for low quantity batches and are fast to dispatch.

Hi Stuart, I dont know what part of the country you are based in,

but AHC in Camberley Surrey, ( also at farnham surrey,)

sell individual nuts, bolts, washers etc.

Hi Stuart,

I’m not sure what size you need, or where you are, but my local engineering supplies companies (there are still a couple left) down here in Rugby keep stocks of cap heads, socket grub screws etc in various lengths and materials but not in the very small sizes, only down to M3. They will sell one or a box and prices are competitive. I suggest that you might look for a similar supplier in your area.
