      Just got the latest M E W .

interesting as usual but one question, what the hell is a WODEN tool and cutter grinder.

the spelling is right in the contents but it's spelt wrongly at least 4 times in the article, including the header.

someone needs a slap on the wrist, methinks.

A Woden is a Worden that has been modified. Says so in the title.wink

Just like I have a Chinese Bridgeport, says so on the plate.

              Wheeltapper,
MEW, ME and I expect, all other mags/books /newspapers these days are full of spelling errors due to fast keyboard bashing /poor knowledge of spelling/carelessness /generally sloppy attitude to spelling and no proof reading as of bygone times.
You will just have to put up with it and go with the flow.I think it’s like goods supplied where you the customer does the quality control and decide to live with faults or send item back.
Having said that, I think the Editors do an excellent job and I am “happy” to accept the odd error.

Blimey, your knife cuts both ways…

I completely looked through that; in fact it took me three reads of the post to see what the issue was.

I imagine it's because as well as the Worden grinder there was a 'Woden' tool making company so it just didn't ring a bell.

I have both spellings in my 'personal dictionary' so it wouldn't have come up with a wiggly red line.

Even if we had a proof reader (that would be a luxury in this modern age!) I doubt they would have spotted it.

Woden is correct spelling under the CE Phonetic Spelling, Simplification and Uniformalization Initiative. Following Brexit, the r will be restored to its rightful place. The issue was put together over the Brexit decision week so has five bob each way.

JS, I'm sure that as a proud owner of this machine you have researched the etymology of 'silk flowers' and their relation to tractor manufacture. Along those lines perhaps you have discovered the secret of 'hemp flowers' and 'grilled Huang Gongyi' which often appear as special attributes of drill bits, as in this Link ?

Roger, that's brilliant. I had to look twice before I read the description.

they grow bloody strong silk flowers out there.

You typed a quote mark followed by a closing parenthesis. If you want to do that, put a space between them.
